Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Pitfix Diagnose and Pitfix Coding apps and this website.
Last updated 30 October 2026
The short version
- You don't create an account. We don't ask for your name, and we never collect your location.
- Your VIN, backups and reports stay on your phone, unless you share them yourself.
- The AI features send car data to our AI provider, only after you agree.
- We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
What we collect
| Car data | Fault codes and details about your car's model and control units, to show you what they mean and which settings your car has. This never includes your VIN. |
|---|---|
| AI features | Your car's model, its faults or settings, and anything you type, to write your Health Check report or answer your coding question. The apps ask you first. |
| Anonymous car data | Pitfix Diagnose shares anonymous data about what your car reports, to improve fault explanations. It can't be linked to you or your car. It is on by default, and you can turn it off in Settings, under Privacy. |
| App usage | Pitfix Diagnose counts which screens and features are used, without your VIN or fault codes, to improve the app. |
| Purchases | Proof of your purchase, to unlock what you paid for. Payment is handled by Apple or Google, and we never see your card details. |
| Support requests | Your email address, your message, details about your car and the app logs, to answer you. |
| Security | Checks that requests come from the real app, and your IP address for a short time, to prevent abuse. |
Permissions
The apps use Bluetooth or your local network to connect to your adapter. On Android 11 and older, Android requires location permission to find Bluetooth devices. Pitfix never reads or sends your location.

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from other companies.
Why we are allowed to use it
We use data to provide the features you use, with your consent for the AI features, and in our legitimate interest to improve and secure Pitfix.
