Pitfix Diagnose
Know what your BMW is telling you.
Pitfix Diagnose is a BMW diagnostic app for iPhone and Android. Read fault codes in every control unit, see live engine data and find out what a repair should cost, before you go to the garage.
A full check in about a minute.
The first time you connect, Pitfix reads every control unit and gives you a short report.
- Stored faults in every control unit, with the unit they came from
- 12 V battery charge level and condition
- Next service for oil, brakes and inspections, by date or distance
BMW fault codes, explained in plain words.
A code like 0x280F00 means little on its own. The AI Health Check reads all your faults together and tells you what is wrong, whether you can keep driving and what the repair usually costs.
Usual workshop price for this repair
€280 – €420
Example for a NOx sensor on a BMW 320d. Prices depend on your country and garage.
The sensor that measures exhaust cleanliness sends readings the engine can't trust. Your car still drives normally, but it may fail the emissions test.
Your engine, live.
Watch temperatures, pressures, boost and more as numbers, bars, charts or car-style gauges. The Dashboard has presets for how you drive.
- Warm-up
- Oil and coolant temperature, until the engine is ready for full power.
- Sport
- Boost, intake temperature and the values you check on a fast road.
- Track
- Oil temperature, pressure and gearbox temperature for long hard laps.
You can record a drive and look at it later.

Questions about Diagnose.
Does reading faults change anything in the car?
No. Reading faults, live data and the car check only listen to the car. Nothing is written until you clear faults or start a service job.
Should I clear a fault code myself?
Clear a fault once the cause is fixed. If it comes back, the problem is still there. The AI Health Check tells you which faults are linked, so you know what to fix first.
How good are the repair cost estimates?
They are typical workshop prices for your model and region. Use them as a guide when you talk to your garage, not as a quote.
Can I register a new BMW battery myself?
Yes. After fitting the new battery, connect Pitfix and open Battery registration. The app walks you through it step by step.
How do I reset the service light?
Open Service reset, pick the reminder you serviced, like oil, brake fluid or the inspection, and confirm.
Can I do a DPF regeneration while parked?
No. Pitfix asks the engine to start a regeneration, and it then runs while you drive. Start it with the engine warm and the fuel warning light off, then drive at a steady speed above 60 km/h, ideally around 100 km/h, for at least 20 minutes. You can watch the soot load in the app.
