Is coding safe for my car?
Pitfix only shows settings your car has, checks the battery and saves a backup before every write. You can restore the original settings at any time.
Do I need a laptop to code my BMW?
No. Pitfix Coding runs on your iPhone or Android phone with an OBD2 adapter. Some control units on newer cars need an ENET adapter, over Wi-Fi or a cable.
How do I turn off Auto Start Stop for good?
Turn on Auto Start Stop off by default and tap Write. The car then starts with the system off every time. You can still turn it on with the button. In ECO PRO mode the car turns it back on by itself.
Will coding affect my warranty?
Coding changes settings in the car's own software, it doesn't change any parts. If you are worried, restore the original settings before a dealer visit.
Does my adapter work for coding?
Most BMW adapters do. Some cheap ones can't reach the headunit or the instrument cluster on newer cars. Pitfix tells you which control units your adapter can change when it connects.
What happens after a software update at the dealer?
An update can set some settings back to factory values. Connect again and change them back the same way.
